Abu Ghraib Exploitation
Kerry and Left-Wing Democrats Exploit
Abu Ghraib
About everyone
knows of the Abu Ghraib Prison Ignominy. People are outraged. Who wouldn’t be?
But the most infuriated of our citizens are the service members of the U.S.
military who are putting their lives on
the line each day (fighting and dying) to preclude future terrorist
attacks on U.S. soil and to bring freedom to Afghanistan and Iraq.
The
unconscionable exploitation of Abu Ghraib for political purposes has had a harmful
impact on the war against global terrorism; it has cost military and civilian lives;
it has undermined the Will of our people to fight the war against global
terrorism; it has been used as a fund raiser by John Kerry; it has been used by
John Kerry as the basis for calling for the resignation of Donald Rumsfeld; it
has been used by Al Gore to attack the Bush Administration and call for the
resignation of top leaders; and it has been used by Left-Wing Democrats and
media to maliciously attack our Armed Forces.
Abu Ghraib has been opportunistically and treacherously
exploited (at the expense of our national security and the safety of our
citizens) to gain many millions of votes for John Kerry in the November
election.
Kerry’s and Left-Wingers’ Unconscionable
Exploitation of Abu Ghraib
Commentary by: Col. John H.
Wambough, Jr. USAF (Ret.)
About everyone
knows of the Abu Ghraib Prison ignominy. People are outraged. Who wouldn’t be?
But the most infuriated of our citizens are the service members of the U.S.
military who are putting their lives on
the line each day (fighting and sometimes dying) to preclude future
terrorist attacks on U.S. soil and to bring freedom to Afghanistan and Iraq.
The
unconscionable exploitation of
Abu Ghraib for political purposes has had a harmful impact on the war against
global terrorism; it has cost military and civilian lives; it has been used to
undermine the Will of our people to fight the war against global terrorism; it
has been used, opportunistically, by John Kerry for fund raising and as a basis
for calling for the resignation of Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld; it has
been used by Al Gore to attack the Bush Administration and call for the
resignation of top Administration leaders; it has been used by Hillary Clinton
to allege that the Abu Ghraib happenings were pervasive and “goes all the way
up the chain of command”; it has been used by Ted Kennedy to claim that
Saddam’s torture chambers have been reopened under U.S. management; and it has
been used by Left-Wing Democrats and media to maliciously attack our Armed
Forces.
New York
Times is Key to Democrat Exploitation. The New York Times is a Left-Wing
politically driven newspaper. (To better
understand its media manipulation for political purposes, read Journalistic
Fraud by Bob Kohn). Abu Ghraib has been treacherously exploited (at great
expense to our national security and the safety of our citizens) in an effort to harvest millions of votes for
John Kerry and regain political power for the Democrat Party. What was done by a very few misguided and
unprincipled people has been translated by the Left-Wing into millions of votes
for Democrats and has also been used as a basis (by the Left) to undermine the
war against global terrorism.
As of June 15, 2004, the New York Times (work horse of the Left-Wing
Democrat Party) has published 177 stories (with many pictures) on Abu
Ghraib. What everyone needs to know is
that the New York Times influence on public opinion is greater than any other
national or worldwide news organization; it’s articles and photos are
electronically syndicated to over 650 newspapers. Its stories become the center theme for
discussion on the liberal media’s national networks—CNN, ABC, CBS, NBC, etc.
plus National Public Radio (NPR), cable TV and radio talk shows.
To appreciate the scope of the New York Time’s extraordinary effort to help
get the Democrat Party and Kerry in power,
people must grasp the impact of the mass circulation of Aru Ghraib
articles. Should the 650 syndicated
newspapers locally and regionally each publish the 177 stories about the Aru
Ghraib that would equate to 115,050
stories (650 * 177 = 115,050)
placed in newspapers nationwide).
Additionally, newspaper columnists use the information and pictures
contained in New York Times articles to generate thousands of separate
newspaper articles on Aru Ghraib—often run side-by-side with New York Times Aru
Ghraib articles.
Military Chain
of Command Took Action
.
It is important to note that those who turned in the soldiers at Abu
Ghraib were soldiers themselves. These soldiers saw things appallingly improper
and reported what they saw to a higher level. The Army Chain of Command
responded by taking action to investigate and fix the problem and then punish
those found guilty of wrong doing. In January 2004, the Army announced to worldwide media that
multiple investigations were underway concerning the treatment of prisoners and
that disciplinary actions were expected based upon the findings of these
investigations. Had the Army chain of
command not taken action, then the Army, rightfully, would have earned a huge
black eye—but the Army, in fact, took precipitous action to investigate and fix
the problem. They did exactly what they
were suppose to do given the circumstances presented to them.
Turning
Abu Ghraib into Votes for Kerry. Evidence in the form of photos and videos were to be used in the
prosecution of individuals being
investigated. Either someone or a group
of people (having access to this media) decided to release it publicly—possibly
appreciating the positive political implications for John Kerry and the
Democrat party and the negative implications for the Bush Administration. In short order, the photographs from Abu
Ghraid were leaked and then publicized with lighting speed over Internet sites,
on cable networks, TV, newspapers and news journals. If we weren’t in a national election cycle,
the CDs, photos and videos may never have seen the light of day. Abu Ghraid would have been fixed by the
military, the guilty punished and that would have ended the case.
The
Scandal Beyond the Scandal. Beyond the real scandal at Abu Ghraib (so
far, seven people charged), the question becomes (for Kerry, the Left-Wing of
the Democrat Party and the mass liberal media – agenda driven – propaganda
machine) how much additional scandal can be manufactured or implied from the
ignominy at Abu Ghraid? How many votes is this fiasco really worth to the
Democrat Party 5,000,000; 10,000,000; 15,000,000; 20,000,000, who knows? But
this scandal is being milked for every vote Kerry and the Democrats can extract
from it. Abu Ghraib has been turned into
a bonanza for John Kerry. The Democrats are willing to taint the reputation of
our military for political power; they are willing to undermine our political
leadership for political power; they are willing to do about anything for
political power; they have virtually gone crazy in their utterances. Al Gore’s speaks out along with his Left-Wing
cohorts all for the purpose of having Democrats regain power. Truth and decency
in public discourse no longer matter. ( The coalition

Raking the Military Over the Coals. The salt in the wound for the military is
that there has been lots of good news to report in Afghanistan and Iraq. Tens of thousands of efforts have been expended by our military to
improve the lives of people—even under the threat of sniper fire and concealed
explosives. Specifically, our soldiers have built, renovated and put back into
working order hospitals, schools, power
plants, reservoirs, sewer systems,
etc.) Had the media focused heavily on
the good that our military had done, then when something went terribly bad like
Abu Ghraib our soldiers would better understand the extensive coverage. The
problem lies in the National Election Cycle and the mass liberal media – agenda
driven – propaganda machine that has masterfully and with great calculation
foregone positive coverage for our military in order to promote Kerry’s
election and get Liberal Democrats back in power.
Liberal Media Bad News is Good News for Democrats. Don’t you think it disconcerting
to the citizens of the United States that media has given a thousand times more
coverage to the bad acts of the seven or more culprits in Abu Ghraib than to
the good acts of the 200,000 plus soldiers that have honorably served in
Afghanistan and Iraq (your sons, daughters, fathers, mothers, aunts, uncles and
friends). This should be the greatest outrage of all! Think about it! Your soldiers go into combat, risk their
lives for our country, some get killed, some get injured and some survive
without injury but all have sacrificed. With all the sacrifices of our
military, our media (with it is
politically driven liberal bias) have deliberately bypassed the thousands of
projects (good things our troops have done) and focused on whatever they can
find that is bad. Once they find a major
setback such as Abu Ghraid, they magnify it, amplify it, dissect it, bisect it,
analyze it and repeat it over and over and over and over again! Good news in Afghanistan
and Iraq will not get their candidate and party elected; bad news is a home run
hit for the Democrat Party.
