Kerry Snubs Unity
Politics No Longer Stop At The
Waters Edge
“Politics Stop at the Waters Edge”. This principle
recognized that no matter what our political differences, our survival and the
survival of our Armed Forces on the battlefield depended on our presenting a
unified front to our enemies. This principle “Politics Stop at the Waters Edge”
has little sway with Left-Wing liberals.
Gaining political power is more important to “Left-Wingers” (such as John
Kerry, John Edwards, Tom Daschel, Ted Kennedy, Robert Byrd and Nancy Pelosi)
than support for our troops, support for our Commander in Chief and winning the
war against global terrorism.
Should these people gain power, their focus would be on dismantling the U.S.
military; turning our national security over to the United Nations; and not on
going after terrorists. The Left-Wing people in charge of the war on global
terrorism would be pacifists, appeasers, anti-war radicals, anti-military,
anti-intelligence gathering, anti-patriot act and the blame America first crowd.
Kerry’s Politics Do Not End at
the Waters Edge
Commentary by: Col. John H. Wambough, Jr. USAF (Ret.)
Kerry Snubs Unified
Front Principle. Our political
leaders once held to a principle “politics stop at the waters edge” like it was
a code of honor. This principle was invoked by both political parties
immediately upon the commitment of our troops to the battlefield. This principle postulated that no matter what
our political differences, our national survival and the survival of our Armed
Forces on the battlefield depended, in part, on the United States presenting a
unified front to its enemies. Regrettably, this principle has little sway with
Left-Wing liberals of the Democrat party.
Although the
Democrat Party has Senators Joseph Lieberman, Zell Miller, Evan Bayh and others
(who embrace this principle and place survival of our country over party politics),
for the most part, the principle that politics end at the waters edge is dead.
Gaining political power is more important to “Left-Wingers” of the Democrat
party (such as John Kerry, Ted Kennedy, Tom Daschel, Robert Byrd, Nancy Pelosi
and their surrogate followers) than support for our troops, support for our
Commander-in-Chief, support for the Administration and winning the war on
global terrorism.
The
mindset of many of these liberals is that President Bush is a greater villain
than Saddam Hussein or Osama Bin Laden. These are the Left-Wing liberals that
would be given greater power should Kerry be elected President.
Kerry’s Entourage
Directing the War on Global Terrorism. These are the people that would be involved in directing
our country’s war on global terrorism – pacifists, appeasers, anti-war
radicals, anti-military, anti-intelligence gathering, anti-patriot act, the
blame America first crowd. It would be total insanity (on the part of the
American public) to select Kerry as Commander-in-Chief (with his entourage in
tow) to direct the war against global terrorism. This could be national
suicide.
Kerry
and his associates have done everything possible to undermine the Will of the
American people - to fight and persevere against global terrorism. Bad news for
America is good news for John Kerry, Ted Kennedy, Tom Daschel, Robert Byrd, and
Nancy Pelosi. Tragedy television (and its preoccupation with every thing
dreadful that happens in war and the daily exploitation of body counts for
political purposes) promotes John Kerry’s poll numbers and diminishes support
for the Commander-in-Chief and his highly competent Administration.
In
April of 1944, during World War II, 749 soldiers were killed in one day (I
repeat, one day) when they came under attack while training for the Normandy
Beach landings (a little less than the soldiers lost in 15 months in Iraq-from
the start of war to the turn over of the government to a new Iraqi government).
The difference between now and then was that in World War II, our citizens
weren’t exploiting tragedy, the negative events of war and the deaths of our
soldiers to win the next election. Times have changed!
The
U.S. would have lost World War II if subjected to the mighty liberal media
propaganda machine of today. Imagine the Left-Wing Liberal media’s field day
with the reporting of 400,000 dead and 670,000 wounded United States soldiers.
Some news anchors (like Dan Rather) would probably think it a good idea to read
the names of the dead soldiers on national TV and make sure that the people see
pictures of every coffin along with its draped flag (it would be the peoples’
right to know). Imagine how many forecasts of doom and gloom they could
register for every general’s battle plan; imagine how the liberal media could
have criticized the Commander-in-Chief and Secretary of Defense for not having
a detailed post war plan for every village in each war torn country.
Imagine hearing doom and gloom for five years!
The
U.S. would not have won World War II with the political
opportunists and media elites of today - who would
have subverted the national Will to fight and win - with their
endless stories and vivid pictures of tragedy, death and destruction. In 2004,
our Commander-in-Chief and our Armed Forces are fighting World War
III against global terrorism. They will not let us down, but
opportunistic politicians and media elites (day by day) undermine the Will of
our population to engage the terrorists; eventually, this could cause
the U.S. to lose the war on global terrorism.
Kerry Undermining U.S.
Leadership.
The great purpose of trying to
reverse the dynamics of hate and despair in the Middle East by establishing a
bastion of democracy in Iraq holds little promise in the eyes of Left-Wing
democrats such as John Kerry, John Edwards, Ted Kennedy, Tom Daschel, Robert
Byrd, and Nancy Pelosi. Everything is doom and gloom. These transparent
political opportunists (supported by Media elites) are weakening our
Commander-in-Chief, his administration, our Armed Forces and hence - our
efforts to win the war against global terrorism. These politicians and their
surrogates share a comparable goal with the terrorists; that is, undermining
the leadership of the United States of America. Should the U.S. be attacked
prior to the elections (similar to what happened in Madrid, Spain), the obvious
terrorist goal would be to get John Kerry elected. Kerry would be a blessing
for the terrorists. President Bush, Secretary of Defense Rumsfeld and the Armed
Forces of the United States are the global terrorist’s worst nightmare.
Kerry – A Clear and
Present Danger U.S. National Security. John Kerry has gotten national
security issues wrong so many times that he - and the people brought into his
administration - would represent a clear and present danger to the national
security of the United States and our survival. When terrorists attack our
country (and sooner or later they will) John Kerry’s response would likely be
threefold: (1) blame Bush for having stirred up a hornets nest of terrorists; (2)
visit the United Nations to debate the attack and get agreement on what to do
about it – possibly a resolution condemning global terrorism and (3) take
measures to improve homeland security. The likely focus would not be how best
to protect the citizens of this great nation but, instead, how not to offend
the United Nations and the global community by our actions. The likely foreign
policy strategy would be: (1) do not to stir up terrorist hornet nests; (2)
avoid actions that could provoke terrorists; and (3) let’s wait and see what
the terrorists do next! Good luck! I’m voting for President Bush. John Kerry as
Commander-in-Chief would truly be: “The Ultimate Insult to Our Armed Forces”
but, more importantly, our national security would hang in the balance.
Who Do You Trust with
U.S. National Security? The United States has not been attacked since 9/11
because we have a President and an Administration that have been proactive in
going after the national security threats to the United States. But the demonstrated
lack of unity and resolve on the part of our people during this election cycle
- when juxtaposed with the political fallout of terrorist attacks in Spain,
provide ample incentive for terrorists to attack the U.S just prior to the
national election in November 2004. The question everyone needs to ask before
voting in November is: Who do you trust to handle our national security? I
trust President George Bush, Vice President Richard Cheney, Secretary of State
Colin Powell, Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld, National Security Advisor
Dr. Condoleezza Rice and Homeland Security Secretary Tom Ridge.
For those interesting in
entertaining positive outcomes to our war on global terrorism, I highly
recommend the book: “ENDGAME – The Blueprint for Victory in the War on Terror”
by Lt. General Thomas McInerney and Maj. General Paul Vallely. Also, if
interested in understanding media manipulation, read Journalistic Fraud by Bob
Kohn.
